Agris Bitāns

Agris Bitāns is the Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns and Head of the firm's Intellectual Property and Data Protection practice group. With more than 25 years of specialised IP experience, he is widely regarded as one of Latvia's foremost intellectual property litigators and thought leaders.
Agris's practice spans the full breadth of IP law — trademarks, designs, patents, copyright and neighbouring rights, trade secrets, and unfair competition — serving both local and multinational clients, including leading pharmaceutical and technology companies. He has successfully represented clients in landmark disputes that have produced precedent-setting rulings shaping the interpretation and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Latvia including civil and crimināls proceedings.
Beyond contentious work, Agris advises on complex licensing arrangements, digital commercialisation strategies, trademark opposition proceedings, as well as broader issues at the intersection of IP, e-commerce, and data protection, including GDPR compliance and regulatory inquiries. He has been instrumental in the development of intellectual property law and policy in Latvia through his participation in legislative working groups and professional associations.
Agris has served as President of the AIPPI Latvian National Group since 2005, contributing to the advancement of IP law on both the national and international stage.

Rūta Olmane

Rūta Olmane is a European and Latvian Trade Mark and Design Attorney with more than two decades of experience in intellectual property law. She is an Associate Partner at METIDA Law Firm, where she specialises in trade mark and design protection, oppositions, appeals, licensing and IP litigation. Rūta represents Latvian and international clients before the Latvian Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Since 2024, she has also served as a WIPO domain name panellist in disputes under the .LV Dispute Resolution Policy.

Rūta is Vice President of the Latvian National Group of AIPPI. She served as President of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) from 2016 to 2018 and continues to contribute actively to the association as a member of its Advisory Committee and Design Committee. She has also been appointed to the Jury of the DesignEuropa Awards for both 2025 and 2026.

Her expertise has been recognised by leading international IP rankings. Rūta was named among Managing Intellectual Property’s “Top 250 Women in IP” from 2016 to 2018 and has been consistently recognised in the WTR 1000 by World Trademark Review as a leading trade mark professional.

Rūta holds a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Law from the University of Latvia. Fluent in Latvian, English and Russian, she actively participates in professional organisations, contributing to initiatives focused on the protection of intellectual property rights.

Jevgenijs Fortuna

Jevgenijs Fortuna is a European and Latvian Patent, Trademark and Design Attorney at FORAL Patent Law Offices, with 30 years of experience in intellectual property. He is President of the Latvian Association of Professional Patent Attorneys and a member of the epi Council, and his practice focuses on patent and trademark prosecution, litigation and enforcement.

Tatjana Kreicberga

Tatjana Kreicberga is a European and Latvian trademark and design attorney, lawyer and managing partner of ALFA-PATENTS, one of Latvia's longest-established full-service intellectual property agencies. With over 20 years of experience in intellectual property protection and degrees in both law and engineering economics, her practice focuses on trademark and design protection strategy, licensing, litigation and portfolio development across multiple jurisdictions. She is an active member of AIPPI, the Association of Patent Attorneys of Latvia (LPPA) and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK).

Līga Fjodorova

Līga Fjodorova is a Latvian and European trademark attorney and an attorney-at-law admitted to the Latvian Bar. As Specialist Counsel at COBALT Latvia, she leads the firm's Patents, Trademarks and Designs practice, advising clients on the protection, enforcement and commercial exploitation of IP rights, as well as portfolio management. She also represents clients before Latvian courts in litigation involving IP-related matters, particularly where IP issues intersect with commercial law.
Liga is a Board Member of the Latvian National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). In addition to her legal practice, Līga regularly lectures on intellectual property law and is actively involved in mentoring and educating the next generation of legal professionals.

Ieva Judinska-Bandeniece

Ieva Judinska-Bandeniece is a Latvian Attorney at Law and registered Patent Attorney, Partner and Head of the Intellectual Property Practice at TEGOS Latvia. She has extensive experience in intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademark protection and enforcement, copyright, trade secrets and confidential information, as well as IP and IT related transactions. Before entering private practice, Ieva served as an expert and member of the Appeals Board of the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia. She is a member of the Latvian National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Latvian Association of Professional Patent Attorneys (LPPA), and the Latvian Bar Association.

Ingrida Veiksa

Ingrida Veiksa Ph.D. is a Professor and Head of the Doctoral School at the Turiba University, Riga, Latvia. Has lectured on Intellectual Property Rights in Latvia and foreign universities within the Erasmus Mobility program. Ingrida Veiksa is an expert in the Law Science of the Latvian Council of Science, member of the Latvian Bar Association and Latvian National Group of the AIPPI. Author of textbooks and several publications. Member of working groups for the drafting of intellectual property law in Latvia. 

Broņislavs Baltrumovičs

Broņislavs Baltrumovičs is a Latvian and European Trademark Attorney and lawyer specialized in the IP field, practising at Agency TRIA ROBIT since 2005. His practice focuses on trademark protection, oppositions, cancellations, litigation, anti-counterfeiting, and domain name disputes. He serves as a Member of the Board of the Latvian National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Vice-President of the Latvian Association of Patent Attorneys (LPPA), a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), representing Latvia, and a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Brigita Tērauda

Brigita Tērauda is a Latvian and European trademark attorney and attorney-at-law admitted to the Latvian Bar. She is Partner at VILGERTS law firm heading the IP practice and advising clients on the protection and enforcement of IP rights, with a special focus on IP disputes. Brigita represents clients before Latvian courts in IP related litigations, as well as before the Industrial Property Board of Appeals of Latvia and before the EUIPO. Brigita is appointed as WIPO Domain Name Panelist for .lv domain name disputes.

Beatrise Lukšēvica

Beatrise Lukšēvica is a lawyer who specialises in intellectual property law, with experience advising on trademarks and copyright as well as experience in litigations related to intellectual property disputes. In addition to her experience, she also combines a strong interest in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights with a particular focus on emerging legal issues arising from Artificial Intelligence, new technologies and Cybersecurity. Beatrise is a Board Member of International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) Latvian National group (AIPPI LNG)
